Iran Arrests Kurdish Student In Sanandaj Due To Blaming IRGC

A Kurdish student in Sanandaj was arrested on Monday because he has blamed Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps’ (IRGC) existence in Iraq.

According to the Democracy Center for Human Rights in Kurdistan, Mostafa Zahednia who was studying in the Iranian Kurdish city of Sanandaj had questioned IRGC’s interferes in the internal affairs of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region in a conversation with other students a few days ago.

“After the Kurdistan Region’s Referendum, Qods unit of IRGC was supporting Shiite Militia Groups (known as Hashd al-Shabi) to attack Kurdish province of Kirkuk,” Zahednia told his friends.

Iraqi Kurdistan Region held a referendum on September 25 which was opposed by regional and international countries.

Iraqi forces and Hashd al-Shabi backed by Iran kicked of an offensive to retake disputed areas from Kurdish Peshmerga on Sunday.

These areas were captured by Peshmerga from ISIS.

The Iraqi army took full control of Kirkuk on Monday.

Thousands of Kurdish civilians fled the city while Shiite and Turkmen residents of the city celebrated it.
